On September 6th, 2022, I released my first traditionally-published trade book, Stand in Confidence: From Sinking in Insecurity to Rising in Your God-given Identity.

My book launch party far exceeded my expectations.

My husband, Michael, along with my friends Avrielle and Melanie helped me to plan this special occasion. I knew that I wanted an outdoor event in the evening to foster rooftop, swanky vibes.

THE VENUE

We hosted the book launch party at an open courtyard next to a creative co-working space in Frisco called Makers Gym called The Patios At The Rail.

It was so wide, airy and spacious. It was the perfect open space for our event.

THE DECOR

The decor for our book event was so tasteful. We did splashes of peachy and coral tones, beautiful of floral arrangements, and high tables.

We went with our fave decor company, The Render Co. which is the same decor company that I used to decorate my conference, Confident Woman Weekend!

We will continue to use them for our event decor in the DFW area because they’re easy to communicate with, professional, and excellent.

THE OUTFIT

I was so excited to wear my dress for the party! I found this strapless high-low mustard dress at Anthropologie.

I’m normally an XS, but I had to size down to an XXS. So if you’re interested in ordering this dress, I recommend sizing down!

My shoes were some simple nude pumps that were given to my by a friend years ago.

When it came to my jewelry, I wanted to wear gold to match the gold foil on my book cover.

My earrings are some small, chunky gold hoop earrings from Amazon.

My layered Coin Charm necklace was found at a Christian-owned store that I love to shop from called Altar’d State.

My layered gold bracelets were from Charlotte Russe (and less than $6!).

THE PEOPLE

We invited my friends and family as well as any followers who had purchased my book! This gave me the opportunity to be with the people I know and love as well as meet new people and hear their stories!

THE SCHEDULE

We chose an evening party for the book launch because I wanted to experience the sunset, cool weather, and the string lights that lined the fence.

From 6:00 – 6:45 was mix and mingle time with food, drinks and music.

From 6:45 – 7:30, my husband and I thanked everyone for coming, gave remarks and acknowledgements, and did a book reading.

From 7:30 – 8:00, we had a book signing along with more mixing and mingling.

The schedule was perfect!

THE FOOD

Everyone told us the catered food we had for my book launch party was absolutely delicious. We had a mix of fancy Hors d’oeuvres and, drinks and plated assortments from Vestal Catering in Dallas, Texas.

The tiny tacos were a huge hit. And everyone raved about the mini crab cakes.

THE PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEOGRAPHY

Our friend, Richard Kelly, shot all of the photos and videos for our event via his company, Kelly Media LLC. He’s a digital content genius and gave us same-night turnaround on our photos!

Having photos that last forever was 100% the move. Totally worth it.

One of my favorite aspects of my book launch party was that I didn’t have to plan it! But I’m happy to share these details with you to draw inspiration from for your next book launch party!
